Green Lantern won't skimp on the outer space action
Director Martin Campbell wasn't supposed to dish on his upcoming super-hero epic "Green Lantern" while promoting his new Mel Gibson thriller "Edge of Darkness," but it appears the "Casino Royale" director couldn't help himself. Speaking to MTV, Campbell quieted some fears among the comic book crowd that "Lantern" wouldn't find the Emerald Crusader journeying beyond his home world of Earth. This is mostly genre fans fearing a low budget if the spectacle is minimal, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
"I don't know what the percentage is, but there's quite a bit in space," Campbell said. "The initial trip up there, the training sessions he has to go through in order to become a Green Lantern. And there, of course at the end, he goes back up to Oa again. And there's a couple bits in between. There'll be enough, I think, to satisfy anybody."
"Green Lantern" is expected to begin production sometimes this spring.
