Boston Rob goes 'Around the World' for History Channel
Even if he doesn't end up winning, Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano is in the middle of one of the most dominant individual seasons in "Survivor" history. And don't worry, the reality TV favorite isn't about to leave your television.
History Channel has ordered the 10-part series "Around the World in 80 Ways," to be hosted by Boston Rob and Dennis Anderson ("Gravedigger").
On the series, Mariano and Anderson will attempt to circumnavigate the globe using 80 different modes of transportation. That means normal things like car and plane and train, but it also means canoe, chariot, fighter jet, blimp ostrich and more. According to history, sometimes they'll travel together and sometimes they'll race.
"This series captures History's commitment to highly compelling entertainment within a historical framework," stated Dirk Hoogstra, SVP at History. "The dynamic between our two hosts will make for great television, while viewers can journey around the world with them to explore the ingenuity of travel in every era, throughout all stages of technological advances."
"Around the World in 80 Ways" will premiere later this year.
