'Game of Thrones' plans an unprecedented flashback
"Game of Thrones" fans have come to expect plenty of twists and turns on HBO's hit series, but in the upcoming season five, even the space-time continuum will break down.
The show's producers have revealed that they'll be breaking the series' longtime "no-flashbacks" rule for the first time.
"GoT" producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed the twist at a press event in Spain earlier this week, where Benioff said, "Making the first season, we set a rule: No prophecies, dreams, or flashbacks. We already failed the first two, and this season we broke the third. So yes, this season will finally have flashbacks."
The narrative development has been rumored for some time, following the leaked news that the show was allegedly searching for an actress to play a young version of Cersei Lannister (played as an adult by Lena Headey).
Will more flashbacks follow? Will Sean Bean return with his head intact?
