Universal Pictures options new Mark Millar time travel comic book
The first issue of Mark Millar’s and Sean Gordon Murphy’s “Chrononauts” just hit shelves this week, but the time travel story is already on its way to the big screen. Universal Pictures has secured the rights for making a film adaptation of the comic book series.
“Chrononauts” follows fun-loving scientific geniuses Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly and their travels through space-time — a fourth dimension-crossing journey that may have them using time travel for the good of mankind or for their own ends.
Millar is no stranger to seeing his comic books transformed into action movies. He also wrote the source material that inspired “Kick-Ass,” “Wanted” and the recent “Kingsman: The Secret Service.”
Millar will produce the “Chrononauts” film alongside Chris Morgan, known for his work on the “Fast and Furious” franchise. — Emily Rome
