Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in 'Fraggle Rock' movie
Preparation for Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s next role may require a diet of radishes.
The “Dark Knight Rises” actor will produce and lead the cast of an in-development “Fraggle Rock” film. All this movie needs now is Zooey Deschanel on the ukulele, and it’ll have reached max adorableness capacity. (The “(500) Days of Summer” pair did once say they wanted to team up again and become a regular screen couple a la Fred Astair and Ginger Rogers — this seems like the perfect project with which to start making good on that promise.)
“The first screen personas I ever loved were Henson creations, first on ‘Sesame Street,’ and then on ‘Fraggle Rock,'” Gordon-Levitt said in a statement. “Jim Henson’s characters make you laugh and sing, but they’re also layered, surprising, and wise.”
A big screen take on 1980s puppet TV series has been in the works for nearly a decade — hopefully Gordon-Levitt’s attachment will get things moving along faster. — Emily Rome
