Jimmy Fallon extends "Tonight Show" contract through 2021
Jimmy Fallon isn't leaving "The Tonight Show" anytime soon.
The comedian's contract on the late-night talker has been renewed through 2021, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt announced on Thursday. After taking over hosting duties from Jay Leno in February of last year, the series has remained the top-rated late night show on television, averaging 3.8 million total viewers in the 2014-15 season.
“Jimmy has been an important member of the NBCUniversal family for 17 years," said NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke in a statement. "He is extraordinarily talented, hard-working and brings a level of creativity and energy every single day that is simply unmatched in television. The success of the 'Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' has been nothing short of remarkable.” — Chris Eggertsen
