Raekwon breaks his silence about going ‘on strike’ from Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA has been very vocal about Raekwon’s lack of participation in the collective’s comeback album “A Better Tomorrow.” In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Raekwon has given his side of the story.
In what the writer describes as “an angry, passionate Raekwon,” the rapper accuses RZA of lying about their working relationship and calls the new effort “mediocre.” Here are a few highlights from the interview:
“The bottom line: I’m not happy with that. I’m not happy with the direction of the music and I’m not happy with how dudes is treating dudes’ business.”
“It’s 20 years later. We talkin 'bout a whole new generation is sitting here representin' and making fiery shit and you telling me that we comin out with some mediocre shit? That ain’t part of our plan.”
"RZA's a coach who won rings back in the day, but now your team is in ninth place. It’s time for a new fucking game plan.”
