Zoe Saldana says 'Avatar' 2 and 3 will shoot back-to-back starting in early 2014
It appears that Zoe Saldana may be gearing up for those long-discussed "Avatar" sequels soon.
The actress addressed the sequels while appearing on the May 4th episode ITV's "The Jonathan Ross Show," along with her "Star Trek Into Darkness" co-stars.
"I think that they're doing a part two and a part three and they're probably going to shoot it at the same time," Saldana explained. "Because if we just do two and then wait, I'll probably be 45 or 50 by the time we get to part three. It takes a long time, it's a very hard process."
She also confirmed the rumor that production will start in early 2014. Writer-director James Cameron is reportedly working on the scripts now.
2009's "Avatar," which also starred Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver and Michelle Rodriguez, is the all-time box office champ, having grossed $2.7 billion worldwide.
There is no release date set for "Avatar 2," but it likely won't hit theaters until at least 2015.
