New 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie has an 'Iron Man' connection
Paramount Pictures is in need of their own franchises (Marvel Studios is owned by Disney) and with new "Star Trek" and "G.I. Joe" pictures years away, the company is jumping into the pond with a new version of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." In fact, you could say they are sprinting. The studio has already hired "Iron Man" screenwriters Art Marcum and Matt Halloway to start an original screenplay for the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, if the script is good, the studio's hope is to get a director as soon as possible and begin production next year. The "Turtles" starred in a series of live action hits in the early '90s and most recently a 2007 CG animated feature that grossed almost $100 million worldwide.
