Is Mariah Carey releasing a new Christmas album?
An executive at Def Jam reportedly told press at a gathering in Seoul, South Korea that singer Mariah Carey is plotting another holiday-themed release.
According to Rap-Up.com, the album is set to drop on Nov. 2 (or Nov. 10, depending on your source) and will feature six new tracks, some Christmas standards and a new mix of her classic "All I Want for Christmas." The cover art will be shot by famed celebrity portrait photographer David LaChapelle. No official announcement has been released and the label has not yet replied in a request for comment.
Her hit holiday album "Merry Christmas" was released back in 1994 and contained the original version of "All I Want."
The news arrives as Carey's been jet-setting, having arrived in Brazil on Thursday to perform at the Festa Do Peão de Boiadeiros this weekend.
She's also been the latest name batted around as a rumored judge for "American Idol."
