Paul Bettany to return in 3-D for 'Priest'
Hollywood is just going gaga or 3-D after the massive box office success of "Avatar." Films such as "Cabin in the Woods," "Clash of the Titans," and the final two "Harry Potter" films have all been delayed so they can undergo the 3-D process and now Screen Gems is jumping on the bandwagon with one of their upcoming releases "Priest."
The second collaboration of director Stewart Scott and Paul Bettany after the disappointing and over-hyped "Legion," "Priest" finds the "A Beautiful Mind" star as a warrior priest who teams up with a sherrif ("Twlight's" Cam Gigandent) and a priestess (Maggie Q) to kill some vampires. Perfect fodder for three dimensions, no?
The process will mean the film will now be delayed till Jan 14, 2011. As for other possible 3-D conversions, you'll know Hollywood has gone too far when "Sex and the City 2" gets delayed for the 3-D treatment. Talk about a horror film.
