Brendan Fraser leaves TNT pilot he signed on for last week
If you'll recall last week's 10 Stories You Might Have Missed, we highlighted Brendan Fraser signing on for the TNT pilot "Legends." Well, good thing we didn't do a full news report on the casting, because Fraser has now departed "Legends."
According to Deadline.com, Fraser and potential showrunner Howard Gordon had a difference of interpretation regarding the main character, a deep-cover intelligence operative gifted at transforming himself into different people.
The role will now be recast.
This would have been Fraser's first stab at regular series TV, but the head of the pilot's producer, Fox 21, told they website they hope to work with Fraser again.
The "Legends" pilot was developed by Gordon, Jeffrey Nachmanoff and Mark Bomback. It will be directed by David Semel.
