USA cancels 'Fairly Legal,' 'Common Law'
USA has axed a pair of underperforming dramas with generic titles, though in both cases the show's stars are going to be alright.
"Common Law" has been canned after only one season, making it part of the small (but not unprecedented) group of USA Network shows not to earn at least a single renewal. Star Warren Kole has already booked a recurring gig on FOX's "The Following," while we're sure Michael Ealy will be just fine.
And then, "Fairly Legal" star Sarah Shahi landed a role on NBC's "Chicago Fire," which was quickly followed by the Deadline report that "Fairly Legal" is done after two seasons.
On the bright side, that same report says that "Burn Notice" is close to a deal to return for a seventh season, not that that's a surprise.
It was also revealed this week that "Political Animals" won't get a second season, but we did a story on that.
