The Decemberists' Colin Meloy working on novel, in talks for Broadway musical
Art-pop-rockers The Decemeberists already have a busy 2011 ahead of them. But frontman Colin Meloy's new year sounds positively brimming with busy.
The singer-songwriter and author is working on finishing an adventure novel for older kids called "Wildwood" according to Spinner. It's a collaboration with wife Carson Ellis; it's currently in the editing stage.
We told you he had something up his sleeve.
Additionally, Billboard is reporting that Meloy is in talks to create a Broadway musical. Apparently Michael Mayer -- who directed Green Day's "American Idiot" stage musical -- has been pulling at his sleeve.
"We're still talking and there's potential for a musical down the line, for sure," Meloy said.
