'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Chris Pratt Confirms ‘Jurassic World'
The very busy Chris Pratt will soon travel from Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" to "Jurassic World."
The "Parks and Recreation" star -- who will soon be heard in "The LEGO Movie" -- has confirmed earlier reports of his involvement in the long-awaited fourth installment of Universal's lucrative franchise.
"For me, 'Jurassic Park' was really kind of my 'Star Wars,'" Pratt told the QMI Agency (via Peace River Record Gazette) at Legoland California, where he was promoting "The LEGO Movie. "And so it’s a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I’m going to be playing. I’m thrilled about it."
Although plot details are scarce, "World" allegedly takes place 22 years after the events of the 1993 original film, with Pratt will reportedly play an ex-military man named Owen who butts head with a brainy scientist (Bryce Dallas Howard).
Ty Simpkins ("Mud") is also starring. Colin Trevorrow ("Safety Not Guaranteed") is directing, while Steven Spielberg will act as executive producer.
After "The LEGO Movie," Pratt will next appear in this summer's sci-fi superhero film "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"Jurassic World" will roar into theaters June 12, 2015.
