Robert Pattinson re-teaming with 'Cosmopolis' director David Cronenberg for 'strange' film

Robert Pattinson's multi-year employment as resident "Twilight" hunk is about to come to an end, but he seems to have found a new muse.

"Cosmopolis," in which Pattinson was directed by David Cronenberg, just premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this week, but the actor is already itching to re-team with the odd auteur.

"I’m filming another movie with Cronenberg but I don’t know when he wants to start filming," he told the French magazine Inrockuptibles. It’s going to be his first one in France and he promises it’s going to be very strange."

Cronenberg? Strange? Nah...unless you count exploding heads, typewriter-bugs, guns made of jawbones and twin gynecologists as "strange."

Whatever it ends up as, it will be the actor's second role with the auteur. Does that make him the new Viggo Mortesen?. The latter starred in three back-to-back Cronenberg films, namely "A History of Violence," "Eastern Promises" and last year's "A Dangerous Method."
