Chris Evans approves of Michael B. Jordan as the new Human Torch
Chris Evans may be best-known for playing Marvel's Captain America, but it wasn't so long ago that he suited up as Johnny Storm (AKA the Human Torch) for a pair of "Fantastic Four" films.
Now, he's given his blessing to the upcoming reboot's new version of the character -- played by "Fruitvale Station's" Michael B. Jordan.
“I met him [Evans] at this event and he was basically like, ‘Man I can’t give you anything,’” Jordan told The Source. "He said, ‘You’re great, you’re awesome. Just do your thing. And enjoy it. It’s gonna be fun.’ That was just a really cool piece of information, words of encouragement from the guy who killed the role. He really did a really great job and hats off to him with how talented he is, 'cause he’s doing an amazing job with Captain America."
Jordan and "Fantastic Four" director Josh Trank previously teamed on "Chronicle."
"Fantastic Four," which also stars Miles Teller, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell opens June 19, 2015.
