Hans Zimmer and Pharrell construct super-group for 'Spider-Man'
We'd already told you that Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams were scoring the next "Amazing Spider-Man" flick. What was learned, too, this week is that there's a whole supergroup behind the sounds.
Johnny Marr, Dave Stewart, Mike Einziger (Incubus), Williams and Zimmer have all combined as an unnamed crew for Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
“Marc and I were talking about Spider-Man, and as the word got out, so many of our friends and musicians started calling us up, wanting to be a part of it, because they love Spider-Man. That was the thing that united all of us – the great love for Spider-Man," Zimmer said in a press release. "With all of these hugely talented people wanting to join us, it was Marc who said, ‘Why not start a band?’ Marc and I have had a great start jamming with everybody, and we still have a few surprises up our sleeve.”
Zimmer previously rallied an entire percussion army for "Man of Steel." He and Williams worked on that together, plus music supervision for the 2012 Academy Awards.
"Amazing Spider-Man 2" is in theaters on May 2 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti and more.
