'Mighty Mouse' will save the day
Paramount Pictures has flirted with the idea for over a decade, but the studio is finally teaming up with its Nickelodeon Movies label to bring a new version of "Mighty Mouse" to the screen.
According to the LA Times, the studio has been on the lookout for a new writer and director to spearhead a modern take on the classic pint-size hero. Why the rush? The success of the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movies along with the anticipation of Sony Pictures' "Smurfs" have made cute and cuddly critters en vogue with family audiences once again.
The hero last appeared on the small screen in the 80s and in a Marvel comic book in the early 90s.
