Don't get your hopes up for a 'Superman and Batman' movie
Warner Brothers owns DC comics and the rights to all the characters within the DC universe. They are planning a third Christopher Nolan Batman movie as well as another revamp of Superman helmed by Zack Snyder. Seems ripe for a crossover of the two caped crusaders at some point. Alas, no. According to Shock Til You Drop, producer Chuck Roven says the twain shall not meet anytime soon. Roven said, "That may be in somebody's mind but right now the Batman lives in his world and the Superman lives in his world. Those stories are those stories and we haven't thought beyond each individual picture."
It would be logical to then assume that anything "Justice League" related would take place in an entirely different universe than the two aforementioned films. We'll have to wait and see how well "The Avengers" does.
