Djimon Hounsou joining 'Fast and Furious 7'
One thing the "Fast & Furious" franchise has been missing is a tall, macho guy with a shaved head.
Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou ("In America," "Blood Diamond") has signed on to join the massive cast of next year's "Fast & Furious 7," although his role is being kept under wraps, according to Variety.
He'll join fellow tall guys with shaved heads such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson and Jason Statham in the film, plus Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster. James Wan ("The Conjuring") is directing.
Although the sevenquel's plot has yet to be revealed, the film will move the franchise back to Los Angeles for the first time since the 2001 original.
This year's "Fast & Furious 6" raced to $788 million worldwide, a box office record for the series.
Hounsou will soon be seen as Korath in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy"
"Fast & Furious 7" will be released July 11, 2014.
