HBO wants more 'Real Time with Bill Maher'
HBO has renewed "Real Time with Bill Maher" and set the upcoming eighth season to premiere on Friday, Feb. 18 at 9 p.m.
"Bill Maher is a vital and provocative observer who cuts through the media clutter to offer a uniquely thoughtful outlook on the world," gushes HBO SVP Nancy Geller in a statement. "HBO's unfettered creative freedom brings out the best in Bill, and we’re thrilled to bring his fearless insights back for another season."
The seventh season of "Real Time with Bill Maher" concluded on Oct. 16 with the series' 172nd episode.
"Real Time" was the successor to Maher's "Politically Incorrect," which premiered on Comedy Central in 1997, moved to ABC in 1997 and concluded in 2002.
