'Avatar's' Sam Worthington can't stay away from Sci-Fi

Sam Worthington must be a closet geek at heart.  The Aussie has already starred in "Terminator: Salvation," will appear in the lead role in James Cameron's "Avatar" and recently finished production on the remake of "The Clash of the Titans." Now, Variety reports Worthington is attached to appear in a big screen adaptation of "The Last Days of American Crime."

Based on Rick Remender's upcoming comic book, "American Crime" centers around the repercussions of the U.S. government plans to secretly broadcast as signal that makes it impossible for anyone to knowingly break the law.

No word on when "Crime" will hit the screen, but Worthington is keeping busy making the 60s set thriller "The Debt" alongside Helen Mirren and Tom Wilkinson.
