Taylor Lautner to star alongside Adam Sandler in 'Grown Ups 2'
"Grown Ups" had all the hallmarks of an Adam Sandler cinema masterpiece: A supporting turn from Rob Schneider, a Steve Buscemi cameo, some sappy family dynamics, sports talk and fart jokes. But it was missing one crucial element -- a well-chiseled, bare-chested werewolf.
The oversight is being corrected for the sequel, as it was revealed that "Twilight" hunk Taylor Lautner is joining the cast of "Grown Ups 2."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lautner will play a "fun" new character who goes man y mano with Sandler's character.
Oliver Cooper ("Project X") will also join the film, which is expected to feature the first film's big name cast, including Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, Maya Rudolph, Rob Schneider and Salma Hayek. Director --and frequent Sandler collaborator -- Dennis Dugan is also returning.
"Grown Ups" centered on a group of grown male friends who take their families to a cabin retreat after their beloved high school basketball coach dies.
If you're asking youself why a sequel is being made, "Grown Ups" earned more than $270 million worldwide.
In addition to the "Twilight" series, Lautner starred in the box office disappointment "Abduction" last year. Comedy could be a good move for the actor, post-Jacob.
