Ben Stiller a "Used Guy" for Reese Witherspoon
Three years ago, "Used Guys" was supposed to be Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey's onscreen reunion after "The Cable Guy." At the last minute though, Fox pulled the plug and the project died. Now, the studio has had a change of heart and refocused the flick for a male/female pairing.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the high-concept Sci-Fi comedy is being refashioned so Reese Witherspoon can join Stiller in a future run by women who clone and trade men like used cars. Originally, Stiller and Carrey were to play outdated models on a search for their masculinity. Now, the picture will focus on Stiller's character and Witherspoon as his clone owner.
No new writer has been brought on board to reshape the screenplay yet, but "Little Miss Sunshine's" Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris are in talks to direct.
