Chris Pine's "Star Trek" follow up in trouble
First it was Brad Pitt's "Moneyball," which Columbia Pictures put the brakes on at the last minute, and now Chris Pine and Denzel Washington's latest thriller in trouble.
Variety reports 20th Century Fox is having major budget issues with the duo's upcoming film "Unstoppable." The Tony Scott flick was originally supposed to begin shooting this August, but the studio is having issues with the huge paydays for Washington and Pine -- who is coming off his first blockbuster "Star Trek" -- and the massive scale of the action set pieces. It doesn't help that the last Washington/Scott collaboration, "The Taking of Pelham 123," was a major disappointment at the box office last month.
The studio is still hoping to greenlight the film so it can be released next summer, but it's not a slam dunk at this point.
