'Misfits' is finally coming to American TV on Logo
England's award-winning sci-fi smash "Misfits" is finally coming to American TV.
Logo announced this week that it has acquired domestic television rights to "Misfits" and will begin airing the series on Thursday, July 19 at 10 p.m.
The story of a group of law-breaking friends who acquire superpowers after a freak electrical storm, "Misfits" stars Robert Sheehan, Iwan Rheon, Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, Lauren Socha and Antonia Thomas. Howard Overman created the series and is writing an American version with Josh Schwartz.
This is hardly the first American exposure for "Misfits," of course. The series was a Hulu exclusive last year.
"We're proud to introduce the U.S. television audience to this beloved series, which is like the mutant offspring of 'True Blood' and 'X-Men,'" states Marc Leonard, Senior Vice President of Multiplatform Programming, Logo. "'Misfits' is the perfect series for our Logo viewers who will appreciate how the show’s underdogs rise up, take center stage and start blurring the lines of morality, sexuality, gender and reality itself."
