Angelina Jolie interested in directing erotica adaptation 'Fifty Shades of Grey'
Angelina Jolie may be getting naughty with her next directorial effort.
The actress-director has expressed interest in bringing E.L. James saucy bestseller "Fifty Shades of Grey" to the big screen, according to Deadline.
Universal Pictures won the rights to the three books in the series and is hoping to put the the first film on the fast track to production.
Jolie has reportedly had multiple conversations with the studio about coming on board as a helmer. Her directorial debut, "In The Land Of Blood And Honey" was nominated for the foreign language Golden Globe last year.
What began as "Twilight" fan fiction on the Internet, "Grey" (and its two sequels) explicitly depicts the sexual relationship between a recent college grad and a billionaire businessman, including episodes involving bondage, domination and sadism, much of which takes place in "The Red Room of Pain." It's unclear at this point how graphic the film version will be.
On the acting front, Jolie is currently ramping up "Maleficent," the "Sleeping Beauty" update alongside Sharlto Copley ("District 9"), at Disney.
