'X Factor' winner will also get a Super Bowl commercial

Sometimes $5 million and a recording contract just aren't reward enough.

FOX announced on Friday (Aug. 5) that the winner of "The X Factor" will also be featured in a Pepsi-related commercial guaranteed Super Bowl exposure.

And "X Factor"/Pepsi won't even be getting an in-house discount, since this year's Big Game will air on NBC in February 2012.

"For decades, Pepsi has put musical talent in its commercials on T.V.’s biggest stage – the Super Bowl," gushes Frank Cooper, Chief Consumer Engagement Officer of PepsiCo Americas Beverages. "Pepsi has a long history of being the curator, creator and catalyst of exciting, new music; and 'The X Factor' partnership is a great way for us to continue to bring fresh musical talent to new generations."

At the Television Critics Association press tour panel for "X Factor," producer-judge Simon Cowell told reporters that the $5 million prize will be a cash award impacted by costs and penalties from the Sony/Syco recording contract.
