FOX can't confirm new Jennifer Lopez 'American Idol' deal
While media reports were swirling earlier this week that Jennifer Lopez had reached a new deal to return to "American Idol," FOX brass declined to confirm or deny on Friday Friday morning.
FOX Entertainment President Kevin Reilly began his statements to the Television Critics Association by apologizing for not having a J-Lo announcement. The done-but-not-confirmed nature of J-Lo's presumptive deal mirrors the circumstances last summer when FOX was unable to formally announce Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson as "Idol" judges despite a general consensus that all three were signed, sealed and delivered.
