RZA dedicates new track to late Tarantino editor
Hot new RZA track "Gone" may have been about the rapper/producer's fallen friend Ol Dirty Bastard, but he dedicated it on his Facebook page to Sally Menke.
It's all part of the Wu Tang co-founder's new #WuWednesday, taking a page from Kanye West and his G.O.O.D Fridays with free, weekly downloads. "Gone" features immensely talented Justin Nozuka, Finger Eleven's James Black and Kobra Khan
What's with the Tarantino/Menke connection? RZA scored the "Kill Bill" series, for one. Tarantino and the hip-hop mainstay have both been known to cite each other's work as inspiration. Most recently, RZA said Tarantino's take on martial arts and martial arts films act as music for his own directorial debut, "The Man with the Iron Fist."
