Vanessa Hudgens going kiddie again with 'Journey' sequel
"High School Musical" star Vanessa Hudgens is in final talks to join Josh Hutcherson in “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island,” the sequel to “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D” which starred Hutcherson and Brendan Fraser.
THR reports Hutcherson would reprise his role as young adventurer Sean Anderson in a script loosely based on Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island." Given that that book is itself a sequel to "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," the adaptation would be loose indeed.
Hudgens, who will next be seen in "Sucker Punch" and "Beastly" would play a pacific islander who falls for young Hutcherson. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would presumably assume the role of some kind of a fellow elder adventurer. The movie will be directed by Brad Payton, whose last film was another sequel:"Cats and Dogs: The Reventge of Kitty Galore" Oh my.
