Alec Baldwin's 'Schweddy Balls' 'SNL skit becomes an ice cream flavor

It sounds like a joke, but it isn't: Bell & Jerry's has crafted a limited batch ice cream flavor paying tribute to the "Saturday Night Live" sketch best known as "Schweddy Balls."

The dessert giants announced this week that Schweddy Balls Ice Cream --  "Fair Trade vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum and... loaded with fudge covered rum balls and milk chocolate malt balls" -- is now available, though you may need to use their website's excellent store locator to find out where, exactly, it's available in your area.

You don't just use the name "Schweddy Balls" without the blessing of all involved and "SNL" producer Broadway Video Enterprises is on-board, along with the sketch's stars.

"For a long time, I thought that ‘Here Lies Pete Schweddy’ would end up on my tombstone," Baldwin stated. "Now, thanks to Ben & Jerry's, the goodness of the Schweddy family recipe won't go with me to the great beyond."

Added Ana Gasteyer, "The Schweddy Balls sketch was a personal favorite from my SNL run, so I am pleased as holiday punch that Ben and Jerry's has taken it upon themselves to share the Schweddy Family recipe with the world. As a person and a performer, I am a sucker for holiday balls. And I have no doubt this ice cream will cause many to scream 'Good Times.'"

Good times, indeed.
