With NBC's "Chuck" and "Undercovers" and The CW's "Nikita," sexy spies are all the rage on the small screen, so ABC is contemplating getting back into the "Alias" business.
According to E!
, ABC is in the most preliminary phases of contemplating a new version of "Alias" that would borrow some elements from the series that ran for five seasons and starred Jennifer Garner.
Does that sound speculative enough for you?
E! adds that the new version would concentrate on the spy side of the "Alias" plus and would probably not go down the Rambaldi-flavored mythological path.
Like we said, this is beyond preliminary. There may never be a script, much less a pilot, much less a new "Alias" series.
"Alias" ran from 2001-2006 on ABC, during its run it picked up multiple Emmy nominations for Garner and Victory Garber, as well as a variety of technical nominations and wins.
