HBO pitches a basic cable cut of 'True Blood'
What would "True Blood" look like without the nudity, kinky sex, raunchy language, large quantities of blood and over-the-top violence? HBO thinks viewers are ready to find out.
According to Broadcasting & Cable, HBO is officially shopping a trimmed version of "True Blood" to basic cable networks, though no eventual home or premiere date has been determined.
"True Blood" launched its third season two weeks ago with an episode that drew 5.1 million viewers, up 38 percent from its second season premiere.
While the idea of a PG-13 "True Blood" might seem absurd, there are some viewers who only know "The Sopranos" from its A&E airings and others who only know "Sex and the City" from TBS. We pity those viewers, but they must exist...
