Rage Against the Machine reuniting for Arizona protest gig
Zack de la Rocha and his former band Rage Against the Machine are reuniting once again for the cause of protest.
The hard rock band, plus Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and his Mystic Valley Band, will be playing in RATM's hometown of Los Angeles on July 23 at the Palladium.
The announcement is just another step in de la Rocha's Sound Strike boycott. Artists like Kanye West, Sonic Youth and Massive Attack have been signing the organization's petition against the controversial immigration legislation in the state, meaning the musical acts refuse to play in Arizona until the law is repealed. SB 1070 is set to go into effect on July 29.
"Projected proceeds from the concert along with donations raised by The Sound Strike Fund are expected to exceed over $300,000," reads a statement on the site.
Ticketing information for the concert will be posted at a later date.
