Radiohead drummer steps out solo, collaborates with Wilco members
Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Johnny Greenwood have stepped out to tackle solo projects, and the British band's drummer is now doing the same. Longtime member Phil Selway has announced his album "Familial," which boasts contributions with Wilco members Glenn Kotche and Pat Sansone, veteran songwriter and vocalist Lisa Germano and bassist Sebastian Steinberg of Soul Coughing.
Bella Union -- the label releasing the set on Aug. 30 -- describes it as a singer-songwriter effort, "a collection of sublimely fragile, haunting and heartfelt songs that will surprise many, and not only because drummers traditionally don’t do this kind of thing."
It's produced by Selway and Ian Davenport of Radiohead's British homebase Courtyard Studios.
Radiohead itself is still working on it's "In Rainbows" follow-up out of Los Angeles.
