Alexander Skaarsgard may sink your 'Battleship'
He's best known as the sexy vampire Sheriff Eric on "True Blood," but Alexander Skarsgård looks like he's ready to test his newfound notoriety on the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Skarsgård will join Taylor Kitsch ("X-Men Origins: Wolverine") in Peter Berg's cinematic adaptation of the board game "Battleship." Skarsgard will play an impressive naval officer and the older brother to Kitsch's character. Both men will get caught in a water-based thriller where aliens land on Earth but use the seas to do their dirty work.
Skarsgård will shoot Lars von Trier's next endeavor, "Melancholia," before "Battleship" and is also expected to eventually appear in the remake of "Straw Dogs."
"Battleship" is expected to set sail this August in Hawaii.
