Pathetic partycrasher,'Real Housewives of D.C.' come to Bravo in August
Bravo has set a Thursday, August 5 premiere date for "The Real Housewives of D.C.," the latest installment in the network's seemingly unending "Real Housewives" franchise.
This particular installment went into production shortly after the Obama inauguration and attracted fame and notoriety when castmate Michaele Salahi and husband Tareq Salahi crashed a White House state dinner.
Bravo execs have claimed that the show was already well into filming when the November 2009 gate-crashing incident occurred, implying that they aren't, in fact, merely giving two publicity hungry attention whores an additional influx of attention.
"We wanted to dive into the Beltway subculture as it underwent an historic shift, one that previously has not been readily accessible or portrayed, and look at the political hierarchy and definitive social circles that make up D.C.’s unique society," said Andy Cohen, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development, Bravo. "We knew this was going to expose a different social narrative from any of our other ‘Housewives’ series – provocative and engaging in a whole new way."
