'Criminal Minds' faces uproar after cutting female castmembers
Several fans of CBS' "Criminal Minds" were up in arms earlier this week as it was announced that the show is axing one female star and cutting the contract for another.
It was reported by Deadline.com that A.J. Cook's option will not be picked up for the upcoming season, while Paget Brewster has been offered a deal for a reduced number of episodes. That would leave Kristen Vangsness as the only remaining female regular on "Criminal Minds," at least until a new character can be introduced.
While CBS sources swore to the site that the changes were creative and not financial decisions, outraged tweets and blog postings were soon accompanied by online petitions and other gestures of support.
