Kevin Spacey pitches cult drama to Showtime, HBO

Two-time Oscar winner Kevin Spacey has reportedly been pitching premium cable networks on a new drama series in which he'd play the leader of a cult.

According to NY Mag's Vulture blog, Rod Lurie ("Commander in Chief") is attached to write "The Crux," which has been pitched to both Showtime and HBO thus far.

Spacey would star in the series, which would be his first weekly TV gig since "Wiseguy" more than 20 years ago. His most recent TV role was in HBO's "Recount," which earned him an Emmy nomination.

There's no current timetable for when a pilot for "The Crux" would shoot, given Spacey's schedule as artistic director for the Old Vic Theatre.

We'll let you know if the project finds a cable home.
