Free agency puts LeBron James's 'Ballers' movie on hold

As long suspected when the project was announced earlier this year, LeBron James' journey to the big screen won't happen this summer.  The two time NBA MVP is currently dealing with offers from almost every team in the league as the most anticipated free agent in recent memory.  He is attached to star in the Universal Pictures and Imagine comedy "Ballers."  Producer Brian Glazer had hoped to start production next month, but with James' free agent drama, the possibility he'll play for Team USA in the upcoming World Championships and a rewrite on the script, Variety reports the project has been delayed a year.

The film, previously titled "Fantasy Basketball Camp," will find James the premier attraction at a basketball skills camp for adults where he finds himself becoming involved in the lives of his not-so skilled patrons.  Glazer hopes to recruit a number of A-list comedy actors for the flick.  As long as none of them are the horribly skilled "Grown Ups" crew, that's fine by us.

James has said he'll make his free agent plans known by Monday, July 4.

    Moneyball is non-fiction. It's not a novel.
