10 movie stars who need a hit

Last month, we presented 22 Hollywood players whose once-great careers need saving. While it may be be too late for some of them, other stars are on the bubble and can turn things around before they end up on future revisions of that list. With that in mind, we now bring you a lineup of 10 stars who desperately need to topline a hit film in order to get their careers back on track.

There is no reason on God's Green Earth that "Fun With Dick And Jane" should have cost $100 million.

    • Well, when you reshoot most of the film and are paying Carrey $25 million...

These 'actors' are already very rich and famous so why would they "need" a hit, unless your are referring to a different kind of 'hit'.

um............how can you talk about Russell Crowe needing a hit, and not mention that he is going to be one of the stars in the big screen version of Les Miserables? There is his next big time hit right there.

Did Anna Farris have a career? Jack Black is so over, and deservedly so. Colin Farrell never worked cuz he's a jerk, though he's capable of good work.

"With the exception of the critically reviled "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" "

Christ, does this site even bother to check facts? Crystal Skull was anything but reviled by critics; it's still in the positive at Rotten Tomatoes. It's the fanboys who whined to no end.

Crystal Skull and the Fright Night remake were not critically reviled or misguided. Crystal Skull was well received by critics and scored a huge box office number. Coming either right behind or just ahead of Iron Man. Fright Night was also well received.

Harrison Ford doesn't need anything. Having starred in two of the biggest money-making franchises of all time, he already owns half the state of Wyoming and would probably be quite happy to spend the rest of his days woodworking on his ranch.

Jack Black (why is he in any movies?) he is horrible! Anna Farris, never considered her anything more than a teen movie, supporting player, Jim Carrey was great in "I Love You Phillip Morris" but due to the subject matter the film didn't get any theater play here in the states, probably his best performance in years. J Lo? "Maid in Manhattan" was the last decent picture she was in. Harrison Ford, he needs to put his action movie career to rest (as does Bruce Willis) Take a page from Jeff Bridges at some point you have to be able to be a character actor, not sure if either Ford or Willis can do that. All in all its not the stars that are so bad but the crap scripts and movies they get stuck with.
