Who could take the place of Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey?
Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna
It's not that FX's "The Bridge" did a *horrible* job of blending a border drama with a murder mystery. In fact, at times "The Bridge" was pretty decent. However, it was hard to shake the feeling that it somehow should have been better. Enter longtime friends, frequent co-stars and producing partners Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna. Maybe the storyline isn't a border one. Maybe it's something about breaking up Mexican cartels? Or an immigration-based crime from deep within the country? And with Cary Fukunaga departing, perhaps Bernal and Luna, both burgeoning directors, could take on a capacity behind the camera as well? Or maybe just recruit Alfonso Cuaron to take on a few episodes? There are countless issues of race, ethnicity and nationality that Nic Pizzolatto only hinted at in the first season that could be opened up by focusing on Our Neighbor to the South.
