'The Raid 2'
Release Date: March 28
Why It's A Sequel We Want: "The Raid" was compact storytelling with a lot of ass-kicking martial arts, set inside a filthy, unforgiving, single-building set. Director Gareth Evans' tight simplicity was matched by impeccable choreography and action, making it one of 2012's most intense (and fun) viewings, frills-free with Iko Uwais leading the way. "2" promises to literally pick up where the last film left off, as Uwais' Rama leaves the Jakarta slum get to the bottom of the dominating crime syndicate and corruption in his own police force. With Evans enthusiastically helming again, I'm very curious to see how this story will allow for new scenery and fresh development for Uwais', a natural-born superstar.
