Concept: Celebrities learn the secrets of the magic trade, then must perform for pros in elimination challenges
Bring it back because: I'm biased -- I love magic. I love the Magic Castle! Where the show fell apart, unfortunately, was in the casting. Some C-list celebrities took to the concept like kids in a candy store (Hal Sparks, winner C. Thomas Howell), others were pointlessly weird (clown-phobic Ant). Despite all the whining and crying we've come to associate with celebrity-based reality competitions, there was some pretty decent magic by the end of the season, and the celebrities who weren't simply there to get screen time learned all that goes into putting together a magic act -- besides learning tricks, it involves creating a persona, patter and building tension and suspense. Despite Neil Patrick Harris (president of the Magic Castle) doing tricks on talk shows, there isn't enough old school magic out there. Bringing back this show wouldn't change that a lot, but any uptick would be welcome.
