Ever since his incompetent run as President of the Colonies which lead the survivors to stupidly settle on New Caprica, Moore and Eick have done everything possible to reshape Baltar as a more sympathetic figure. And yet, in "Daybreak, Pt. 1" Apollo calls him out for never having done a "selfless act." Surprisingly, Baltar admits his fault. When the crew has to cross the line to volunteer for the final attack on the new Cylon colony viewers were no doubt wondering if that was the moment Baltar would take that jump. He didn't.
