Will Michael Patrick King have a press tour "Comeback"?
Longtime "Sex and the City" showrunner Michael Patrick King was involved in one of the most uncomfortable press tour panels in memory a couple of years ago, when a mid-season panel on his "Two Broke Girls" turned contentious over questions of racial stereotyping, crude sexual references and other aspects of the show the critics took issue with. It was clear by the end that it would be the last "2 Broke Girls" panel ever at the tour. Now, though, King has a new project to plug — or, rather, a revival of an old one — in "The Comeback," his HBO comedy about a washed-up actress returning after it was canceled after a single season in 2005. Critics still hate "2 Broke Girls," but many of them in the room loved "The Comeback," so the tone of the panel could go any which way, from ugly rehash of the previous panel to out-and-out swooning over the return of Valerie Cherish.
