Fall movie comebacks of 2012
Ralph Macchio
Biggest Hit: "The Karate Kid"
Comeback Vehicle: "Hitchcock"
Will It Work?: Let's face it: Daniel LaRusso in the "Karate Kid" series remains the most significant role of Ralph Macchio's career. Despite receiving some good notices for 1992's "My Cousin Vinny," he has mostly languished since, with a stint on Season 12 of "Dancing with the Stars" becoming his highest-profile gig since the early '90s. So imagine our surprise when Macchio cropped up as a cast member in this year's star-studded biopic "Hitchcock," which sees him playing the supporting role of "Psycho" screenwriter Joseph Stefano opposite such names as Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Scarlett Johansson. So will this lead to an unlikely career resurgence for the former teen idol? It certainly can't hurt - but given his seemingly minor role, it may not ultimately help much either.
