Performances that could use a look
Logan Lerman - 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower'
It's been heartening to see Stephen Chbosky's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" stay the least bit alive during the season. But while it mostly bubbles up for Chbosky's nicely tuned self-adaptation on the page, Logan Lerman's frankly revelatory lead performance could certainly do with more attention. The nuance of his work in the film is consistently moving, a huge reason why it rises above the typical coming-of-age bar set by countless films in the past. He'll be one we hear from again and again, and I imagine a lot of people will look back at this moment as his true, defining breakout. - Kristopher Tapley
